Tata Safari storme

Tata Motors offers its customers a brand new offering, its new generation Safari, named as Tata Safari Storme. This rules out all the claims that it will be called Merlin which was only used as its codename. Safari Storme made its debut at India’s biggest Auto show, Auto Expo 2012 organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 7th January to 11th January 2012. The new SUV is basically a nicely updated and enhanced version of Tata Safari. The next generation Safari had been testing since early 2010. Tata Safari Storme has an advantage on its old-rival- the Scorpio- as it hasn't been updated yet (though Mahindra has began work on the new Scorpio). The Safari Storme is now based on the X2 platform, which is Tata's new ladder chassis that is also shared with its flagship model, the Aria. This is a hydroform chassis, which helps to reduce the weight of Safari and improves the ride and handling characteristics. On the outside, the Storme resembles a lot to its sibling but many changes have been made on the car. The SUV will feature the same masculine 2.2-litre of DiCOR diesel engine that would churn out peak power of 138bhp along with 320Nm of maximum torque.

The engine is coupled with a revamped and refreshed G76 MKII-5 speed manual transmission for better gear shifts. The icing on the cake is that Tata Storme is offered in a four wheel drive version  accompanied with a low gear ratio that would be made available in the top variant of Tata Safari Storme. Visually, this brand new SUV has been given a major makeover and the interiors have also been updated substantially. When heading inside the new Tata Safari Storme, the dashboard is intelligently designed with ample of faux wood that makes it look subtle and sophisticated and the quality of the upholstery is high-class. Tata Motors is well aware of the fact that Indian consumers give as much weightage to the interior comfort of the car as to the engine specifications. The exteriors of Tata Storme have been toned down from being much masculine to more gentleman now. More chrome indicates premium, as is the case most of the Indian cars. 

The exterior of all new Tata Safari Storme comprises of refurbished headlamps along with new design at the front end that makes the SUV look more up to date and fashionable. Fresh wide grille, new wraparound headlamps with projectors, thick chrome band on radiator grille, newly designed front bumper with round fog lamps are the elements of new face. On the other hand, the rear end got a major cosmetic makeover to make it different from Tata Safari, the wheel from the back door has been moved below the car. This time around, Tata Motors has its hopes high regarding the sales figures of Tata Safari Storme. Earlier too, Tata Safari was one of the best selling cars by the company and with the next-gen Storme; the company aims a little higher. Price wise, the company hasn’t revealed the exact price range of Tata Storme, but rumour has it that the new Tata Safari Storme will be competitively priced thereby giving the Indian consumers an ease to purchase it.

Force one SUV

Force Motors was founded in 1958 and is commonly known as the company that made the commercial passenger vehicles such as Tempo, Matador and Traveller in India. The Pune based vehicle manufacturer has associated with Daimler AG, ZF, Bosch and MAN trucks as well. With the help of expertise and new technology, the company manufactures variety of commercial vehicles including passenger vehicles Force Motors Traveller, LCV Force Motors Trump, passenger vehicle Force Motors Trax Cruiser and Force Motors Blawan tractor. It was two years ago that the company ventured to build an SUV that it named as Force Motors Force One.

Force Motors Force One SUV has stirred competition in the SUV market in India which is governed by Ford Endeavour and Chevrolet Captiva besides others. Exterior of this mighty looking machine suggests as if it is the re-modeled version of Chinese Ford Explorer popularly known as Guangdong Foday Explorer III. Force Motors has launched its first SUV- Force One in the 4x2 version and the Force One 4x2 with ABS arrived in December 2011 whereas Force One 4x4 is expected to arrive in latter half of 2012.

The “Be the Force” SUV Force One is equipped with Daimler AG Germany sourced 2.2L FMTech (Force Motors Technology) 4cylinder CRDI turbo engine producing 321Nm of torque and 140bhp of power. The vehicle’s front is adorned with projector lamps. Localization content on the new SUV is about 75%. The suspension has been exquisitely tuned by a UK firm Lotus Engineering. Force Motors builds the SUV at its Pithampur plant and as per reports around Rs 600-800 crore will be invested in the Force Motors Force One project. Over 24,000 units will be produced annually. In order to keep track of quality delivery, Force Motors has set up an independent R&D, manufacturing, marketing & sales for the new SUV.

The new SUV by Force Motors has state-of-the-art interior comfort and convenience which includes high end features like driver information system, cruise control, audio control mounted on steering, dual AC vents for each row. Along with these the SUV also has OSRVM side indicators and plush leather seats. The ride and handling has been fine tuned by Lotus Engineering with sixteen inch alloy wheels along with high ground clearance of 205mm. The complete vehicle and the onboard electronics is audited and validated by Mercedes-Benz Technologies. The Force Motors Force One SUV is a six/seven seater SUV with 16 in alloy wheels and power steering, power windows fitted. The braking system in the Force One is front and rear disk brakes. The transmission is 5-speed manual. It also has a ground clearance of 205 mm which is good enough for a 2510 kg SUV. The fuel tank capacity is 75 litres.

Maruti Alto 800

Maruti suzuki India is country’s biggest car manufacturer. The company has always offered its consumers with affordable and fully-featured cars. Recently, the Maruti India had stopped the production of its most loved and saleable car, Maruti 800. Now the Japanese auto manufacturer is working on a replacement which is christened as’ Maruti Alto 800’. As the name suggests the car will be made on the platform of Maruti Alto and would be as affordable as Maruti 800. Apparently, the new Maruti Alto 800 will be priced around Rs. 2 lakh. The test runs on the car have already begun.

 

Maruti Suzuki has been in the Indian car bazaar since a long time now. Maruti 800 and Maruti Alto have been the cash cows of the company and a makeover or let us just say a replacement was due.  The new Maruti Alto 800 have been blessed with a fresh new look that is way different from Maruti 800. The front profile of the car will get swept-back headlights, petite front grille and the lower grille would have a hexagonal shape. However, the front end of the car certainly has a tiny bit of similarity with Ford Figo. The side-look of Alto 800 has a resemblance with Maruti A-Star. The rear profile is clean, neat and edgy.

 

The interiors of the new Maruti Alto 800 are impressive and certainly better than M800. The car would be bestowed with instrumental panel; the centre console will be properly designed and would have information system placed on the top. The headrests will be present for the front seats. The height has been increased as compared to Alto and M800. Amplifying height means more legroom for the passengers thereby providing a much comfortable journey.

 

Coming to the engine and other technical specifications, the new Maruti Alto 800 would be blessed with 0.8 litre petrol engine that would be compatible with the future emission rules. This will not only push the car in churning out decent power figures  translating into a much better fuel economy. The performance on the road would also be way better as compared to M800.

 

Till now there hasn’t been any news about the exact launch date of the new Maruti Alto 800. But rumors in the market suggest that the car will be launched during this festive season. The car will however face a tough competition from its peers, including Hyundai i10, Ford Figo, Hyundai Santro and more. With sky rocketing prices, there could a little here and there in the sales as the market has been shifted towards diesel cars. But with such affordable price tag and better fuel economy, the new Maruti Alto 800 is expected to achieve great success in the Indian car bazaar.
